I have great news!!! I got the cutest gift today from my friend. Check it out!
Morgan asked me to be her Matron of Honor!!!! I feel so honored!! I’ve never been anyones Matron of Honor before. I’m so excited. She’s making a lot of her wedding decorations, so I’m sure we will have lots of late night crafting happening. It’s a good thing I started on my craft room tonight. We will have plenty of space to work in.
We had such great day today. Morgan brought her two boys, Mason and Easton, over and we had lots of chatting to do while they played. The boys had a blast! After they left, I got started on my craft room. We haven’t painted or done anything fancy yet. I did get my table moved in the room and stuff sorted out. At least I have my OWN space and I don’t have to craft at the dining room table anymore. I’m sooooo excited! Michelle (my boss) texted me at about 10 o’clock and decided we should take tomorrow off. I won’t argue with that. 🙂 We will have school and errands to run, but I’m looking forward to going in and making something in my new space!
Have a great Friday everyone!!!
I’ve got a lot of work to do tonight before bed, so this won’t be long. I’ll just sum up our day today.
*Home school was a success. We learned about the days of the week with a fun new song and did some science activities on the computer.
*I got a lot done at work today…it’s been a little rough adjusting to the boys going with me. It was easier when I could go, get my work finished and leave. Now I’m constantly stopping here and there to do random things. It’ll get better.
*The boys got a lot of play time today. After work we hung around and I got some girl time with Michelle while they played with Amanda. They had a blast.
*We had pizza for dinner. It was good and I’ve been stuffed ever since.
*Right now, Jerms and I are watching The Walking Dead. We just started it on Netflix a few days ago. This show is nuts. Sometimes it’s a little to graphic for me. I’m not one who likes zombie shows, but this is like a bad wreck…you shouldn’t look, but you can’t stop staring! We’re on season 2 now. Any watchers?
*I decided today that I want to cut my hair. I don’t know if I will, but it’s getting on my last nerve. It’s so long, which I love, but it’s so annoying to flat-iron everyday. My hair is so thick. It’s not curly, but it has this wave (not a cute wave…totally worthless wave.) Jerms likes my hair long, so I’ll try to ride it out a little longer. Not sure how long that’ll last.
*I didn’t do the dishes today, so I’ll have a pile waiting on me in the morning. JOY!! It’s a good thing I’m off tomorrow! Well..sort of.
I gotta go. I’m exhausted and I still need to work on the magazine.

Ever have one of those days when it’s going really swell and then there’s that one thing that pops up and tries to ruin everything?! That happened to me today.
Everything was going great. Woke up early (not as early as I intended, but early!) had some coffee, made a few phone calls before the kids woke up, and the morning was going great. The kids woke up and we had breakfast and they had a chance to play before we started school. Everything was going really smooth and it stayed that way for most of the day. Jeremy started back at the tattoo shop today and he arrived back home around 4. We were glad to have him home with us. He was home for about 30 minutes before I got a phone call that would ruin my good mood. I won’t go into details, but let’s just say I was a little irritated. Thankfully my husband was here to help me stay level-headed and get me to think about the way I was feeling.
It’s so easy to have one thing happen and it ruin your entire day. But, why do we let it? It’s our decision to feel that way. I told my husband I just needed 5 minutes to feel this way and I’d be done. You know what? It works. Give yourself that allocated time and let yourself feel sorry for yourself or whatever it is you feel. Then make the decision to be over it. That’s it…you’re done. You’d be amazed at what this does for you. No matter how mad I am, nothing is so bad that I should let it ruin the time with my husband and kids. They deserve more than that and so do I.
It’s hard to do this at first, but if you practice it enough it gets easier and you will find that your stress levels go way down. You can’t control everything, but you can control yourself. I know I’ve said it before, but I am so thankful for Jerms. I have learned so much from him and we are continuously growing. (I love that man!)
Maybe you already practice this, but there may be someone out there who needs to hear this. Sometimes I read or hear something and I think ‘Duh! Why didn’t I think of that before?’ Sometime’s you just need to hear it from someone else’s point of view and it just makes perfect sense. Don’t let that one thing or person ruin your happiness. It’s not worth it! Choose to be happy. It’s better that way!
I love the rain! Well…let me rephrase that…I love the rain when I don’t have to get out in it! It’s 12:30 am, I’m in bed and it’s thundering and raining outside…It’s so relaxing.
Tomorrow starts a new week for us. We are starting a new schedule and I have faith it’ll work according to my plan. Jeremy was a full-time tattoo artist before we moved to Arkansas 2 years ago. He’s taken a little time off and decided last month he’s ready to get back to what he loves. I mentioned a few post back that I have been working part-time helping out at the family business, so my schedule will also be changing. Luckily, I will be able to take the kids to work with me on the few days I do go…that’s a major plus. We will home school in the morning and after lunch we will go to work for the day. This will be a little bit of an adjustment. Jeremy normally home schools on the days I am away from the house, but I think with a little planning I will have this down in no time. I need to make a schedule for home schooling, working part-time, and working full-time on Die Cut Crazy. I will need to be very responsible with the time I have everyday and make the most of it. When Jeremy gets home in the evening, I’d like to be able to spend that time with him and not spend it catching up on work.
I’m excited for this change. It will take some time adjusting to not seeing Jeremy as much as I’m use too, but I know how making art makes him happy. It’ll be good for him to get back to it and being around other artists/his friends. It’ll also be good for me to be under so much pressure. For some reason I work well that way. I need to step up to the plate and take care of business! I’m not sure how much longer I’ll work outside the home. I need my main focus to be on home schooling and the magazine during the day. I’m hoping I can make it all work, but I’m not super woman! 😉
The rain has tapered off and I better get some rest. Big day ahead tomorrow!
What a beautiful Saturday! The weather was perfect today. The boys had a chance to spend some time outside playing and we put out some extra Halloween decorations. It felt like fall today and not winter! It was a nice change from the cold days we’ve had lately.
I didn’t get as much work done today as I hoped too, but a little work is better than none. I know it’ll get done…just not as quickly as I’d like. The boys have really enjoyed Marley being here this weekend…they sure do love their sissy. She’s probably the best big sister ever. I mean, what teenager wants to hang out with a 4 and 5 year old? I’m sure they get on her nerves, but she plays with them and makes them laugh. They love her so much.
I don’t really have a lot to share tonight. We had a pretty uneventful day. Right now we’re watching a documentary about people who love to decorate their yard/house for Halloween. It’s interesting to say the least. I’m telling ya what people….it’s getting crazy on this Saturday night at the Shock house. 🙂
Brrrr…it’s cold tonight. I’m blogging from my phone, tucked under the covers. It is freezing outside! Where the heck did fall go? I have a feeling this winter is going to be a good one. I’ve got to get my winter shopping done. I thought I’d have a little time, but winter is here! Atticus has outgrown all his pants by a good inch…Bonus’ belly has outgrown his pants. 🙂
Marley is here this weekend. The boys are super excited to have their sis to hang out with. Although, she’s done nothing but play sims the entire time…but they enjoy peeking over her shoulder to see what she’s up too.
I’ve got lots of work to do tomorrow. I’ve gotta pick up around the house and then work work work on the magazine. Lots going on!
It’s been so cold and rainy here today and I’m thankful to have a warm house and be inside with the family. Hope you are all doing the same. Stay warm!
See you tomorrow!
