Well hello there! Still snow on the ground here. I have a love/hate relationship with snow. I love staying inside…having a reason to not go anywhere. But I hate taking the dogs out!! It’s freezing!! Brrr…

We’ve been making some homemade Christmas gifts the last few days. Last night we made some salt dough ornaments for the first time. They turned out pretty good. I think if we try it again, they’d be a lot better!

We haven’t decorated them yet!

He has more flour on him then the counter! 😉

We also made some other ornaments…these are always my favorite. The hubs and I usually make these, but I decided it was the boys turn this year!

Each ornament has a picture from both the boys. One side is Atticus and the other is Bonus.

I’m not sure if you can tell what the pictures are…let me just give you a hint and say that there are dogs in each picture! LOL I kept this ornament for our tree. I love how these turned out. We made 3 today and will make 3 more tomorrow. We will probably make extras, it seems every year I forget someone and always wish I’d made a few extras to hand out. This year I want to be well prepared! Stuff like this will be fun to look at 15 years from now when the boys are 19 and 20!! That means I’ll be 45! Oh lordy!

Well…Juno is giving me an earful…I should take her out one last time before bed and get to sleep myself.

Hello stranger! Long time no see, huh?! I have been busy around here. I’m not 100% finished with everything yet, but I will say that the majority of it’s done. That definitely takes a lot of stress off of my mind for a minute. I’ll probably enjoy a day off tomorrow…we’re supposed to get some snow and ice tomorrow through Saturday. It’ll be nice to get snowed in with my 3 guys for the next few days, but it’ll also give me a chance to get caught up on emails and get a head start on January DCC issue. This month we put out two December issues and guess what….one of them is FREE! They are both available on the iPad/iPhone and we will have the PDF available soon! We also brought our sketch challenge back this month. Make sure and check that out above, if you’re interested in entering! We have a $25 Two Peas in a Bucket gift certificate available to whoever is chosen!!

Have you been doing Elf on the Shelf? This is our first year and it’s so fun! I think I enjoy it more than anyone in our house. The boys are starting to understand it, but they’re just not sure about this pesky elf right now. We started it December 1st and the boys named our little elf Mushroom. Yes…Mushroom!! Here’s a few pictures from the last few days.

It’s fun trying to figure out what to do next. I’ve started a folder with ideas from Pinterest, so hopefully I won’t run out of ideas before Christmas. I think it’s a fun tradition to start…I would have loved it when I was a kid. I’d love to see what Elf on the Shelf ideas you have!! Leave me a comment if you’re playing along this year.

Today is my mother-in-laws birthday. I made her this card.

photoI thought I’d do a Christmas/Not so Christmas birthday card since her birthday is in December. I wish I would have taken a picture of the inside. I placed a little Christmas tree with jewels inside and had the boys sign their names. It was really cute and she loved it!! We bought her a plant (I don’t remember what kind…but it was pretty!) and two poinsettias. So the card went well with the gift. 🙂

Well…it’s getting late and I need my beauty sleep. Hope you all stay warm!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!! I hope you all had a safe and joyful holiday with everyone you love. We had a great day today and ate way to much yummy food. We started out going to Jeremys moms house. She lives 1/2 mile from us, so it was nice to have a short drive this year vs. 5 hours last year. She always makes a delicious spread and this year was no different. She made a new cheesecake dessert that was super delicious. After leaving her house we headed to my side of the family. My grandma isn’t doing so well…she has battled cancer for a while now and things aren’t looking so well for her. She looked amazing tonight. Her spirits are high and I’m so glad that we we’re able to make it to dinner. Most of the family was there and the food was awesome. (I love to eat….Thanksgiving is on top of my favorites list.) My step-mom Kim and sisters Chelsea and Lindsea cooked most of the food. It was totally different then what we had at Pam’s house, so it was nice to have a variety. It was so good. I will be hitting Kim up for a few of her recipes!! All in all we had a great day. I’m so glad I had the chance to hang out with my grandma. I really wanted to get some pictures with everyone, but we were all so busy talking that it totally slipped my mind. I enjoy spending time with that side of my family and really should do it more.

We have one more Thanksgiving tomorrow. I’m going to Grannys early to help her get it ready. I’m trying to really help this year, so eventually I can take over. 🙂 That’s exciting and scary to me all in one.

I’m so thankful for so much in my life. I have the best husband and kids that anyone could ever imagine. I love them so much. I have a roof over my head. I am thankful for that every time I take the dogs outside and I’m freezing!! We have great friends and family that I’m thankful we could enjoy lunch/dinner together today. I am so thankful for all our DCC contributors. We are getting better and better everyday and it has so much to do with these ladies. They are so talented and love what they do. I don’t know how we got so lucky finding them, but I know I am grateful for everything they do.

There’s so much more that I could ramble on about…but I’m so tired. I can barely keep my eyes open. Again, Happy Thanksgiving. Thank you to everyone who takes time to read my posts. I am also thankful for you. What are you most thankful for this year? I’d love to know.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!! What a great night for trick or treating. The weather couldn’t have been more perfect…it was 70 degrees outside today! I can’t remember the last time we had a nice Halloween and it wasn’t freezing cold. The boys had so much fun tonight. This was the first Halloween that they really enjoyed running up to the houses, knocking on the doors, and getting candy from everyone. They said ‘trick or treat!’ at every house and even ended with a thank you!!! I was so proud of them. By the end of the night they were saying, “Thanks! Have a good night!” It was hilarious.

I love these little goof balls!

Speaking of goof balls…that would be my granny with a witch hat/wig on and my mother peeking over her shoulder!

Notice Bonus checking out his bag of goodies! They could barely keep their hands out of the sacks. 🙂

We had a great night. Both boys complained of a belly ache. That’s a great sign that we got plenty of candy and should be on a sugar high for the next 12 months. Hahaha

I’m off to do a little work before get my beauty rest. Don’t forget to stop by http://www.diecutcrazymag.com for our blog hop tomorrow!! There’s going to be lots of goodies to be given away! Tell all your friends and check out details on the website.

First off….sorry it has taken me so long to write! We are currently in Oklahoma visiting family and wrapping up the last few Christmas’ we have left. We have been here for a few days and have enjoyed seeing our family and a few friends!

We have been so busy lately. Marley came and stayed with us for about a week and a half. We had so much fun and we really enjoyed the family time we had with the kids. I hope you all had a great New Year!  We brought the kids twin mattresses in the living room and had a big slumber party. Watched movies, played wii together, and ate lots of snacks. I think it was probably the best New Years we have had in a long time. Definitely made lots of great memories!

I received my Silhouette Cameo a few days before we left. I am still trying to figure out the software and cut settings. Kinda stinks that it came right before we left to come to Oklahoma, but I sure am excited to get back home and start on some projects. A Hobby Lobby trip is a must before we head back to Arkansas!! While we have been here I’ve been watching Youtube videos about the Cameo. Trying to get a better understanding of how I can use it when I get home. Do you have a Cameo? What is the best tip you can give me? I will take all the tips and tricks I can get. I know it can do so much and I want to do it all!

This is a short post and I apologize. I am going to wrap up the Game of Life the boys and I are playing on the iPad and get ready for bed. We have some friends coming to visit us tomorrow and I am going to catch up on some laundry. Wednesday night we are going out to dinner with the family and then we are heading to the Oklahoma City Thunder basketball game!!!! We are so excited and I just know it’s going to be a blast!

Thanks for reading and don’t forget to comment and leave me some Cameo tips! Please!!! 🙂

Talk to you all soon.

Steph Shock

What a wonderful Christmas!! I hope you all had a great Christmas and are looking forward to the new year…I know I am! Our guests, GramGram and Uncle Critter, made it to Eureka Springs safely. Luckily the winter storm came a little later than they thought it would, and missed us all together. Our guests left about noon Tuesday and had to take it slow, but made it back to Oklahoma City safely. The boys were a little bummed that we didn’t have a white Christmas. They were ready to play in the snow!! It did however get really cold and Jeremy has done an excellent job at keeping the fire going to keep us warm! (I love him!!) 🙂

Here is a picture of our dinner set up. PawPaw made it a tradition to eat dinner by candle light for the month of December. We haven’t done it all month, but I thought it would be special to do for Christmas. It was very nice and I would love to do this every year.

We had dinner Christmas Eve and it turned out better than I expected. I really enjoyed cooking and was surprised how tasty is was!  After dinner was cleaned up we opened some presents, the boys had a great time. Atticus opened up a Play-Doh Magic Swirl Ice Cream Shoppe and said “I have been wanting this for years and years!!” It was so sweet. Bonus opened up what he had asked for the most and was ecstatic…Pop the Pig!!

Here they are in front of the tree! So ready to open their presents. Atticus is on the left and Bonus on the right.

Look at his sweet face.  He was so thrilled  that GramGram got him Pop the Pig!!

Jeremys mom made the boys these robes. Aren’t they the cutest?! I loved them so much I told her I needed one! They are so soft!! The boys look so cute in them.

Santa came the next morning and the boys got some new Wii games and a few board games. We’ve had fun playing them for the last two days. We were sad that Uncle Critter and GramGram had to leave so soon, but we really enjoyed the time we shared. It really was a great Christmas and I don’t regret spending it here in Eureka Springs one bit. It was so nice staying home and not running around house to house all day trying to see everyone. Instead we stayed home and just spent the day with our family and enjoyed Christmas together!! We loved it and I think this was one of the best Christmas’ so far.  We are  looking forward to traveling to Oklahoma in a week or so and having Christmas with family and friends, but before we do that, we are meeting Marley and her mom in Tulsa tomorrow so she can come stay with us!! We are so ready to see her and let her open her gifts we got her. We haven’t seen her since Thanksgiving and we miss her like crazy!! She is the coolest 12-year-old I know! Her and the boys get along so well and they LOVE when sissy is here.  Keeping our fingers crossed that the roads aren’t icy and we can make the 2 and a half hour drive safely. She will be here until the 5th and then we will head to Oklahoma City and enjoy even more holiday fun. Yay!!

As I sit here in front of the fire with my husband and dog, the boys tucked into their warm bed, I am so grateful for the life I have. We had a great year and I know it’s only getting better. I am truly blessed and I never wanna take a day for granted. Thank you so much to all of you who are reading this blog right now. It really does mean a lot to me. I hope you had a great Christmas and you are enjoying your family in your warm house.  Have a safe New Years!!

Thanks again. Steph Shock

P.S. My Cameo is still on track to be here Friday! I can not wait to get it!!! 🙂

Hey guys! I feel like time is dragging by the last few days. Has it been that way for you too?  Maybe I’m just anticipating the holidays so much. I am so excited this year…honestly, I think I’m this excited every year I just forget a year later. 🙂  We have everything wrapped and ready to go. Atticus has been so good at keeping all the presents a secret, which I was very worried about!  I only have a few little things left to buy as stocking stuffers, other than that my shopping is done! I  love seeing the kids open their gifts…the looks on their faces…they just get so excited. I just can’t wait!

This will be my first year to cook Christmas dinner and I’m not sure why, but I am so thrilled to be  cooking Christmas dinner!!! I have it all planned out, the grocery list is made, I’m thinking of ways I can spice up the decorations for the table. I am just really into the Christmas spirit!!

Here’s my menu for dinner. I want input if you have any. Anything special you do for Christmas dinner? Favorite recipes? I would LOVE to hear them or maybe share a link to where I can find them!

*Ham-Recipe from Paula Deen

*Green Bean Casserole

*Mashed Potatoes

*Black and Green Olives

*Lime Jello with Pears-This is something Jeremy’s MeMaw always made them.

*Rolls

*Dessert-Black and White Pie-My grannys recipe. (Jeremys favorite)

My menu is small, but since it’s my first actual holiday extravaganza I want to make sure I don’t get overwhelmed in the kitchen! I feel like I am missing something though. I don’t know what it is! (Input is welcome…Im begging!) My mother-in-law and brother-in-law are making the drive to Eureka Springs for Christmas, there will be a total of 6 of us eating. Not to big and not to small. Just perfect for my first holiday meal!  I am most excited about this…drum roll please…I inherited Jeremy’s MeMaws china a few months ago. It’s still boxed and wrapped in newspaper. I don’t have a china cabinet yet and I have no room in my kitchen cabinets, but I am going to unwrap it and get it ready for this special occasion!! Jeremy is very excited! MeMaw passed away in 2009 and is missed dearly. She was such an amazing woman. I feel very lucky to be able to use her stuff and make so many new memories with the china she loved and shared with her family for so many years.

I will make my weekly trip to Wal-Mart for groceries and last-minute Christmas stuff. I need to hand wash the china…do some cleaning around the house.  I have  baking to do for neighborly gifts and such. We normally make Christmas ornaments and hand out with the baked goods. That is still the plan, but Jeremy has been extra busy and hasn’t designed them yet. I’m sure it will be a last-minute thing, but it’ll get done! I think we may even have a few friends driving through  and stopping to see us sometime this week. I have no idea when yet, it’s still up in the air.

I’m sure we aren’t the only ones who will be busy this week. Are you going out-of-town? Is this your first time cooking for the family? Any traditions? I wanna know! Please share your thoughts and tell me what’s going on at your house.

Until next time! Steph 🙂
