Today is our last full day in Eureka Springs. Although I will be sad to leave, we are ready to get back home. It’s been amazing staying with our friends. Much better than staying in a hotel, but it’s never the same as your own bed.
Today we did a little exploring around town, enjoyed lunch at Magnetic Spring, and took the boys to the park.
It was the perfect weather for the park. We had a great time while we were there. Eureka has a really great park. It’s definitely one of our favorites.
Eureka has also added a music park recently. We stopped by and played some of the musical sculptures. The boys had a lot of fun here!
After we were done playing around, we headed back to the house. The boy ran into an old friend and played around for a while, jumped on the trampoline, and then watched a little bit of Netflix while I did some work. While the boys and I were hanging around the house, Jeremy and a few friends went cave exploring! Here’s a picture he texted me while they were out and about.
Isn’t this awesome!? They had a lot of fun and came back with cool stories about their adventure. Maybe next time I’ll have to go!!
I’m sad to see our vacation coming to an end…We’re back on the road tomorrow.
Tomorrow night I will be blogging from my own comfy bed!!
Enjoy your Sunday!
Eureka has been good to us this week. I swear it’s been the most relaxing vacation we’ve had. We have done nothing but relax the entire trip. It’s been amazing.
I wish I had more pictures to share with you, but you would be bored out of your mind!
We did go downtown for about 30 minutes. That was the highlight of our day. Just long enough to see a friend and pick up some fudge from Two Dumb Dames Fudge Factory. They have the best fudge. Diet or not…it’s hard to pass up while you’re here.
Like I said last night…we’ve had such a great time hanging out with our friends. It’s rare to go on vacation and not have a million places to visit everyday. The weather was cool, almost cold at times. Perfect day to stay inside and work on the magazine.
On another note, my iPhone has been acting a little strange. I updated to iOS 7 a few nights ago…not sure if it’s that or just my phone. Has anyone else updated and had any trouble with yours? My phone blacked out tonight and wouldn’t come back on for a while. I thought it was a goner, but it finally came back on and acts fine now. It’s strange.
If you’ve had problems let me know! I’m due for an upgrade, but in no rush to run out and grab a new phone.
Well…my hubby and Lucy(the dog) are snoring next to me. I think it’s my turn to get some sleep.
I’ll try to take pictures tomorrow around town to share with you all!
Happy Friday and enjoy the rest of your weekend.
Hey! Blogging from Eureka Springs tonight. The weather is great here. Highs in the 80s…rain coming in tonight. I believe we have an 80% chance of rain tonight/tomorrow and high temps of 72! Yes….72 degrees. I can’t believe it either.
We went and visited with Jeremy’s brother Chris and his wife Germaine today. They are making the move to Oklahoma sometime next week. I’m sure Jeremy is excited his brother will be closer. They had lots of stuff packed and ready, but you can tell they still have quite aways to go to being finished. I am so glad it’s not us moving this time! I can’t promise we will stay where we are for to long, but for the moment I’m glad I’m not the one packing.
We’ve had a great time on our trip. We have no plans while we are here, so it gives us a lot of good time with our friends.
We miss our friends. They are all amazing in their own way.
I often wonder why we moved away from this great place.
I don’t imagine we will stay gone much longer. I’m sure there’s a reason we moved back to Oklahoma, but I look forward to making our way back to the Ozarks. Jeremy and I may have been raised in Oklahoma, but this is our home. The kids love it here and that makes us happy.
Here’s a few pictures from our day today.
I apologize for not getting to blog last night. I didn’t have any wifi and my phone was updating to iOS 7, so I couldn’t get my blog up.
I’m sure you were all wondering where I was, right?!!
Have a great day tomorrow! It’s FRIDAY!
Hey everyone. We have a great friend staying with us this weekend. She arrived today and we’ve had a great time so far. Her name is Raechel…Hi Racheal!!…she has traveled from Arkansas, just to see us! I feel so special. 🙂
We have a barbecue to attend tomorrow, but no other big plans. We played skip-bo tonight with my granny (sounds super exciting right?!) and had fun. I’m looking forward to just hanging out and enjoying the time she’s here.
Tonight’s a short post. My apologies. Skip-bo wore me out. I’m ready for bed.
Thank God it’s FRIDAY!
Enjoy your weekend.
P.S. Today was our running day. It was easier today than any other day. My only regret was going at noon and it was so HOT!!! Great run though. We’ve officially made it through the first week of Couch to 5k! Yay!!
Hi all! This has been the longest gap between posts so far. I apologize. My intentions are to write at least once a week, but that didn’t happen last week. I’m here now and I guess that’s what really matters!! 🙂 I’ve done a lot of crafting lately. I won’t bore you with picture overload, but I will share a few cards I recently made.
Here’s an Easter card I made for a few family members. They received it today and loved it. This is one of my favorites so far!
The bunny and grass are from the Silhouette Online Store. The bunny was one of the free images of the week. I thought it turned out pretty cute.
My next card is for my grandma’s 72nd birthday. The flower image is another free download of the week. It’s actually this weeks free image, so if you haven’t grabbed it yet you should! I did mine smaller and didn’t use all the petals, but I really liked how it turned out. She loves to garden and I know she is looking forward to planting her flowers this spring/summer. I hope she loves it!
I sprayed some glitter spray on top to give it a little sparkle. I like it, but wish I wouldn’t have sprayed so much! -A little goes a long way- The grass is the same grass from the other card. I think I’ve used it in the last 3 projects I’ve done!
Easter is coming up! Guess who’s excited? ME!! Easter Sunday we are leaving bright and early and heading out on a family vacation! I am so ready to get some alone time with my sweet guys. We live in Northwest Arkansas. It’s beautiful here in the Ozark Mountains, but we wanna go to the beach!! We are heading to Florida! Sunday we leave and will drive about 10-11 hours to stay the night with my cousin in Mississippi. She has lived there for a while now and we haven’t made it down to see her yet. That’ll be a nice place to stop, let the kids play and get some good rest. Monday we will drive on towards Florida and stay until Friday. Did I mention we are taking the 2 kids AND Lucy our dog? This should make for an interesting and unforgettable drive!! I am so ready to hit the road and see all the sights. As for the next few days I will be doing laundry, cleaning house, and packing. No fun at all. 😉 I promise to post while we are gone. I want to share all the pictures and any fun stories that come along. Thanks for reading and I hope everyone has a great Easter!!
P.S. Today is Marley’s 13th birthday. Well…the 28th, it’s officially Friday here since it’s past midnight. I can’t believe she’s a teenager!! Kids grow up so fast.
I am so thankful I met her dad 11 years ago and had the opportunity to be this beautiful girls step-mom. She is the best big sister the boys could ask for and we can’t wait for her to come stay with us this summer. Love you Marley!!
My son Atticus Beeker will be 5 on the 21st. I can’t believe it. Where has the time gone? If you are wondering…his middle name is Beeker…like the muppet, but spelled differently! 🙂 It’s hard to believe how fast he is growing up. It seems like yesterday he was just a little baby. Here’s a picture of Marley and Atticus when he was little.
How cute is he?? I just love him so much. We’re having a Super Mario Bros. birthday party. He loves anything and everything Mario Brothers. This last Halloween Atticus was Mario and his brother Bonus was Luigi. It was the most adorable thing to see them dressed up together. They have a lot of fun as best friends/brothers. Here’s a recent picture of Atticus doing some school work last week.
He is a handsome little boy. Makes my heart happy to be his momma.
We’re off to Oklahoma this week to see some family and friends for his birthday. He wanted some of his friends to be at his birthday party, so instead of them driving to Arkansas we figured we’d make it easy for everyone and come to them. With summer coming up this will probably be the last trip we make to Oklahoma for a while. Eureka Springs is a tourist town, so lots of people come see us in the spring and summer! Jeremy’s mom is already planning a trip for the first weekend of March. We are looking forward to spring, warmer weather, visitors, and parades…lots of parades!!
*Back to our trip to Oklahoma. I received an email from a friend last night. Her daughter’s birthday party is Saturday and she was in desperate need of a few paper chandeliers to hang from some ceiling fans. As soon as I read the email, everything I needed to do before leaving for Oklahoma flashed in my mind. I just didn’t have the time!! Truth is I actually have plenty of time…how long could it really take to whip up some chandeliers?! Well…it did take me some time, but not as long as I imagined. I am so glad I did it for her. I really love how they turned out and it makes me happy to know I could help her out at the last-minute. She needed 2 chandeliers…Here’s a picture of one.
It’s 11×11. You can’t really tell from this picture, but I used a Krylon Glitter spray and it has a nice sparkle all over it. It turned out so cute!! I got this design from the Silhouette online store. It’s a design by Samantha Walker. I did an internal offset to get the layered effect. It just looked so much better with the contrasting colors. I finished it just in time to get everything packed and ready for our road trip! I’m meeting her Wednesday and she mentioned gluing a few rhinestones on them before the party. I think they’ll be the talk of the party.(besides the birthday girl!) This is a great project for any little princess! I had a lot of fun doing it and look forward to using the image again. Heck…my birthday is in a few weeks…maybe i’ll make some and throw them all around the house. 😉 It seems like I’m being swarmed with birthdays the last few days. I have made so many birthday cards lately and have a list of six more I need to do when we get home from our trip. I guess I can’t complain…I could go buy some cards at Wal-Mart, but I sure do love to make my own!!
I better get some sleep. Thanks for reading guys! Talk to you soon.
First off….sorry it has taken me so long to write! We are currently in Oklahoma visiting family and wrapping up the last few Christmas’ we have left. We have been here for a few days and have enjoyed seeing our family and a few friends!
We have been so busy lately. Marley came and stayed with us for about a week and a half. We had so much fun and we really enjoyed the family time we had with the kids. I hope you all had a great New Year! We brought the kids twin mattresses in the living room and had a big slumber party. Watched movies, played wii together, and ate lots of snacks. I think it was probably the best New Years we have had in a long time. Definitely made lots of great memories!
I received my Silhouette Cameo a few days before we left. I am still trying to figure out the software and cut settings. Kinda stinks that it came right before we left to come to Oklahoma, but I sure am excited to get back home and start on some projects. A Hobby Lobby trip is a must before we head back to Arkansas!! While we have been here I’ve been watching Youtube videos about the Cameo. Trying to get a better understanding of how I can use it when I get home. Do you have a Cameo? What is the best tip you can give me? I will take all the tips and tricks I can get. I know it can do so much and I want to do it all!
This is a short post and I apologize. I am going to wrap up the Game of Life the boys and I are playing on the iPad and get ready for bed. We have some friends coming to visit us tomorrow and I am going to catch up on some laundry. Wednesday night we are going out to dinner with the family and then we are heading to the Oklahoma City Thunder basketball game!!!! We are so excited and I just know it’s going to be a blast!
Thanks for reading and don’t forget to comment and leave me some Cameo tips! Please!!! 🙂
Talk to you all soon.
