Hey there…happy hump day! I had a pretty laid back day today. Atticus has had a little bit of a cough lately, so today we stayed home. I was supposed to go to work, but that’s the joy of working with family! I had a headache when I woke up and just took two Excedrin about an hour ago. I’m hoping I will wake up in the morning headache free!

School was awesome today. We started off with some art. My husband should definitely be our art teacher, but hey…it’s Pre-K/Kindergarten! I can’t be that bad, right? A few years from now, he needs to really take that over. The boys are doing so well with school. Bonus is really catching on and I’m so proud of him for how far he’s come in the last few months. When we started he had trouble with the alphabet and messed up on his counting here and there. Now he is right along side Atticus in every worksheet that we do. I can’t give him enough credit. It’s so sweet to see his face light up when I say “Bubba, you did so good!” It’s just precious. I feel lucky that I am able to see them learning AND be the one who is doing the teaching. When the school year started I was stressing out. I put so much pressure on myself and thought there was no way I could give them the education they needed. Wrong! Home school is awesome and I wouldn’t change it for the world. My boys are smart…I know that. They are learning at their own pace, whether that’s faster or slower. It doesn’t matter. We are learning and we are having fun at the same time as a family. I love it and the boys love it too. Even Bonus said today, “I like school!” When we first started the year he hated it. He hated sitting down at the table…he would rather be playing or something else. Now he’s the first one to the table. That’s cool! I feel like I’m at least doing something right. Thanks to my husband who told me I was capable of doing it when I was crying and stressed out. I almost….ALMOST…put them in public school, which I’m sure would have been fine, but I’m so glad WE decided that home school was right for us. Yes…it takes time and patience (which some days I have more than others) but it’s worth it. I love them boys so much.

Have a great Thursday everyone!

I love the rain! Well…let me rephrase that…I love the rain when I don’t have to get out in it! It’s 12:30 am, I’m in bed and it’s thundering and raining outside…It’s so relaxing.

Tomorrow starts a new week for us. We are starting a new schedule and I have faith it’ll work according to my plan. Jeremy was a full-time tattoo artist before we moved to Arkansas 2 years ago. He’s taken a little time off and decided last month he’s ready to get back to what he loves. I mentioned a few post back that I have been working part-time helping out at the family business, so my schedule will also be changing. Luckily, I will be able to take the kids to work with me on the few days I do go…that’s a major plus. We will home school in the morning and after lunch we will go to work for the day. This will be a little bit of an adjustment. Jeremy normally home schools on the days I am away from the house, but I think with a little planning I will have this down in no time. I need to make a schedule for home schooling, working part-time, and working full-time on Die Cut Crazy. I will need to be very responsible with the time I have everyday and make the most of it. When Jeremy gets home in the evening, I’d like to be able to spend that time with him and not spend it catching up on work.

I’m excited for this change. It will take some time adjusting to not seeing Jeremy as much as I’m use too, but I know how making art makes him happy. It’ll be good for him to get back to it and being around other artists/his friends. It’ll also be good for me to be under so much pressure. For some reason I work well that way. I need to step up to the plate and take care of business! I’m not sure how much longer I’ll work outside the home. I need my main focus to be on home schooling and the magazine during the day. I’m hoping I can make it all work, but I’m not super woman! 😉

The rain has tapered off and I better get some rest. Big day ahead tomorrow!

I’m having a hard time finding something to blog about tonight. My mind is recovering from the full day the kids and I had. I just want to lay here and relax.

Kid free.

iTunes radio on.

Lucy curled up next to me.

Sounds pretty nice, huh? After this blog is finished, I’m going to make a cup of coffee and enjoy a movie.

Here’s a few things on my mind at the moment.

*Home school is going great. The boys are doing well and adjusting to the fact that it’s a daily thing. After breakfast they are allowed time to play and do morning routine. Once I tell them it’s time to do school they’re ready and willing to learn. I 100% believe we are making the best decision for them no matter what others may think.

*Running. We haven’t run at all this week and I’m a little ashamed to admit that. We need to run tomorrow. No exceptions.

*I really want to start doing yoga again. It’s been on my mind a lot lately and I haven’t made the time to do it. I’m sure there’s a reason I keep thinking about it. I need to get my lazy butt in gear.

*I just remembered I have 2 loads of laundry in the garage. Total bummer! I guess I’ll get to that as my coffee is brewing.

*I need to get the boys some winter clothes.

*Speaking of winter….Christmas is in 84 days. What the heck!

*My last doctor appointment for my hand is Thursday. I’m so ready to get it over with and be done with all this wreck stuff. My hand is probably 95% back to normal. I can live with that. There’s still things I can’t do, but I’m hopeful that one day it’ll be 100%. You know what bothers me? I swear I’m not making this up….my finger nail is different. It has started growing weird. It’s like super curved and it drives me crazy! It must have had something to do with the cast.

*I’m loving the weather lately. I need to make sure and let the boys enjoy it before it gets to cold. I see plenty of trips to the park this month.

*We watched the movie Olympus Has Fallen last night. It’s your typical one man saves the world type of movie, but it was good. It kept me on edge the entire movie. We also watched Oblivion a few nights ago. It was super good! Definitely worth a watch if you haven’t seen it. (I’ve been a movie mood lately)

*I love Apple. I’m a iPhone user for life, but iOS 7 is starting to disappoint me. Only in one area. (It’s not giving me vertigo or anything crazy.) My messages are all jacked up. Most of the time I can’t send or receive any text/iMessages. I updated yesterday with the bug fix update they came out with. It’s helped the situation, but it’s still being crazy here and there. I know Apple will fix the problem, I just hope it’s sooner than later.

Well folks…I think I better get to that laundry. Thankfully it’s towels and they’re quick and easy. Enjoy your Wednesday. The week is halfway over and the weekend will be here before we know it.

Kids. We have great kids. Like, super great. I am thankful for the kids we have everyday…But no matter how awesome your kids are, there’s always those times when you just want to pull your hair out!

We had a great day today. Home school went great. Atticus and Bonus are doing amazingly well. Atticus is older and is pretty good at working on his own once he is given instruction. Bonus usually needs more help, but that’s expected for his age. I can tell his attention span is getting better and he is starting to enjoy his school work more and more each day. I love working with them side by side. When Bonus does something good, he always wants his brother to come over and check it out. It’s so cute!!

After school we went to the park. It was so hot today, but that never keeps them away! They could stay for hours if we’d let them. Once we left there, we went and chatted with my grandma and headed home.

At this point it has already been a long day. No naps. They did lay down for a bit, but never fell asleep. All in all….things were going good.

Then we decided to go to the book store.  Once we pulled up they were excited because they know the kids section has toys. Not just any toys….Thomas the Train.  While Jeremy looked for a book, I took the kids to the their section. They played with those trains for a long time. They were having a great time and playing well with each other.

Then it was time to leave.

Atticus did well. When Jeremy said we were leaving, he dropped his things and was ready to go. Bonus on the other hand….let’s just say he got loud. “I never want to leave!” He even said we had to stay forever. FOREVER! Jeremy picked him up screaming and kicking. We were both so embarrassed! I know he was tired. I know others have kids and they know what it’s like. But really!? Why must they act so crazy in public? Bonus is stubborn. He gets that from his dad. When he feels strongly about something he sticks to his guns. I’m sure this will come in handy when he’s older. 😉 But right now, I’d really just like to leave a store without everyone staring at us!!!

That’s not too much to ask is it?

But who couldn’t love these faces? They are just to darn cute to be mad forever.

See you tomorrow.

I had every intention of blogging last night. I walked into the bedroom to grab my laptop, glanced at the television and got sucked into a Marilyn Monroe movie. I blame this on my husband! 😉 I feel horrible that in my ‘one year of blogging’ I already missed one day! Today I will make up for it. You are lucky enough to get 2 post today. That’s right folks….2 post in one day! So here we go…Welcome to yesterdays post.

Hi it’s Friday!! (just go with it!) School has been fabulous this week. The boys are doing great and I have to say Jeremy and I are doing pretty well with it also.

I will admit…I have stressed myself out on more than one occasion. Home schooling is a huge deal. You want to make sure your kids are getting educated and that’s a lot of pressure to put on yourself. You want the best for them.  I feel great about it now that were back into routine. It feels so awesome to sit down with your kids and teach them. Watching them grow and learning. I wouldn’t change it for the world.

We’ve made some changes this week.

1. We started school!

2. We started couch to 5k.

3. I started my blogging everyday for a year!

4. We made a list of things we need to do everyday. Exercise. Craft. Work. School. Fun Family time. etc.

Check out this awesome dry erase board we got to help keep us focused.

We put it in our bedroom, so it’s the first thing we see when we wake up. I love it and I especially love that my husband wrote “Make wife happy!’ You can find this and other super cute items here. I thought this was great for our new journey in life. Just a helpful reminder everyday of things to do.

Changes are hard, but they are also exciting. By changing a few things this week, I feel like we’re on a better path. Taking control of our day. Creating what we want and making it happen. It’s helped me not stress out so much. Even if I fail at something, it’s not the end of the world. I can try again and do better next time!

What are some things you do throughout your day to keep you on track and focused? I’d love for you to share! Also if you home school, I’d love to hear your experience.

See you in a few hours!

Today was great! First day of home school was a success!! Bonus is officially in Pre-K and Atticus is Kindergarten. ABCMouse.com was a big hit. The boys really enjoy it and throughout the day they were asking to do more! I had each kid do their computer learning while I did paper work with the other. That helped me out a lot. I could really focus on helping them do the sheets, while the other was learning on the computer. I think this year is off to a great start. I’m excited about tomorrow and so are the boys!!

Another awesome thing we did today…Jeremy and I started Couch to 5k! We have been trying to exercise regularly and have heard great things about the app. We thought we’d give it a try tonight. Believe me…I am NOT a runner. I love the idea, but I have never enjoyed it. I’m hoping this will help me get over my fear of running. The first 5 minutes is warm up walking. From there you do 8 sets of 1 minute runs.  In between runs you walk for 1.5 minutes. It went smoothly. We ended up only doing 6 sets of running tonight. It doesn’t sound like a lot until you do it! I was exhausted!! It’s a 9 week program and I’m excited to see how it goes. Each week gets harder and harder and builds you up to where you can run up to 30 minutes. I have never even made 2 laps around the track so this should be interesting! It felt great to be trying something new.

How far we will come in that 9 weeks.?! Stay tuned for updates. I’m sure you will be hearing about it a little each week! 🙂

I laid out a card tonight and hopefully will get to it tomorrow. Off to watch a movie with the hubby.

I almost forgot…Today is Lucy’s birthday!! Look how sweet she is! We couldn’t ask for a better pup. Lucy is 2 years old today!
