Hello!!! How about this blog everyday thing?! Geez…talk about slacker. Believe me, I do think about blogging everyday. But just like tonight…it’s 1:52 am and I’m just now blogging. Luckily, I’m not dead tired and thought I’d write a quick post before crashing. By the time I actually finish this post, it’ll be 2:30ish. -Yes…my tiny boring posts usually take at least that long- So…I know I’ve gotta get back on track, but at the same time at least my blog is not updated once a month like it use to be. I am blogging pretty regularly and that was what I wanted to get in the habit of doing. Is this an excuse not to blog everyday like I intended? NO! I am still dedicated to fulfilling my commitment…but life happens. So, I missed a few days. Big deal…I’ll get back on track. I just don’t want to beat myself up about it.

Anyhoodles…The weather here has been a little chilly to say the least. I’m sure there are other places packed with snow and no we haven’t gotten any YET! We are supposed to get snow tomorrow and guess what I’m doing? Bridesmaid shopping. Yes…My friend Morgan is crazy!! Do I think it could wait until the weather was better…sure…but I am also looking forward to a day with the ladies and no kids!! Girls day! I am a little excited to try a formal dress on….Besides shopping for my wedding dress, I haven’t tried on a formal dress since high school…granted I was about 30 pounds lighter and had a tan…lets hope my experience doesn’t turn out depressing. LOL  Either way I’m sure it’ll be fun. And probably motivating for me to get back on the exercise train. Lord knows I need to lose about 10-15 more pounds. I’d be happy with that.

I was going to post a few pictures before I closed this post, but my phone is being wacky and won’t email my pictures. Dumb phone!! I will let you know how our dress shopping goes tomorrow. Enjoy your Sunday!

BTW…It’s 2:25 am…I was pretty close to my estimate.

I love Saturdays. So laid back with nowhere to rush off to. The boys and I did some grocery shopping today. While we were getting ready the door bell rang. I assumed it was my mother-in-law, who was going shopping with us, but when I opened the door it was four little kids asking if the boys could come out and play. Huh? When did this happen? My boys are to little for this!! Before I know it, they will be running all over town with friends. I seriously can’t even believe that. I wish I could just stop time…I don’t want them to grow up!!

After we did our grocery shopping, the boys friends came back over and they played outside for hours. It’s November and it’s freaking gorgeous outside. It’s almost ridiculous how nice the weather has been lately. We walked to the park and played and then headed back home. We had a big night of fun ahead….BABYSITTING!  We had the chance to watch our neighbors little girl tonight….she’s six months old and just precious. We had a good time and the boys were awesome with her. They were so gentle and loving. It was nice to see them with her and not the rough and tough brothers I’m use to seeing on most nights. They are the best kids I could have ever imagined having. I feel lucky to be their momma.

Well, everyone’s tucked into bed and I’m still up watching Netflix. I feel like I may be catching a cold. Yuck! I’m starting to get congested and that is horrible for me. I’d rather get stabbed in the leg  (maybe I’m exaggerating) than have a head cold. Nothing is more frustrating than a stuffy nose when you’re laying in bed trying to get to sleep and you can’t breathe! On that note, I’m going to take some meds and hope that it’ll knock it out.

Hope you enjoyed your Saturday and have a great Sunday with your family.

Thanks for reading!

My Bonus…I’ve wrote about him many of times. It’s never a dull moment with this kid.He never lets me take a serious picture of him! We don’t know how he ended up a morning person, he gets his feelings hurt easily, and the strongest 4-year-old I know. Him and Atticus like to ‘kick’ dads butt! My baby is not a baby anymore. He is growing up to be a big boy.

Here’s some pictures of our mommy and Bubba day out.

^ We went grocery shopping today. I said “Let’s send a picture to dad!” This is the face I get.

^ Here was a second try! I told him to smile.

Bonus gets his personality from his dad. Full of energy, life of the party, and hilarious. I guess those are 3 great traits to add to a list of other amazing things.

Here’s the last and final picture I got of him today on our Wal-Mart adventure.

What can I say…Looks like a total heartbreaker! He’s going to be trouble when he gets older. I am dreading those teenage years. Why can’t they stay babies forever? I’m glad I got to spend some one on one time with my Mister B today. He is growing up to be an amazing little boy.

Goodnight everyone.

I was a busy bee today. Not super productive, but still busy. Bonus and I went shopping with granny today. She is 72 and knows how to shop. She usually only shops once a month, so when she goes shopping she goes all out. She doesn’t want to forget anything! We went to 6 places today in 6 hours. Have you ever been to Garden Ridge? I freaking love that store. I could spend hours in there just walking around. They were getting all the fall and Christmas decor out. Made me excited for the holidays and also made me think about how unprepared I am!! Oh well…no sense in stressing! 😉

I didn’t really buy a whole lot today. Mostly things we needed around the house. Detergent…food…all very unexciting, but I did get one fun thing! Stamps!! Check them out!

I used my Hobby Lobby 40% off coupon and got these babies for like $4. I think I will use them on my next card. I have a card laid out that I didn’t get to today. 😦 I will get to it…I promise!

After shopping, we did our school work for the day. Today went by smoothly and for it to only be day 2 I thought the kids did great and already feels like they’re getting back in the groove of school work. Jeremy mowed our lawn AND his mothers this evening. Talk about a big job. Our lawn alone is huge. He always keeps it looking great and I am so appreciative that I never have to do it. We went for our nightly walk. Couch to 5k is an every other night thing, so it was nice to just walk and relax this evening. My legs are feeling the effects of our run yesterday. I think I’ll go soak in a nice warm bath and get ready for tomorrows day.

Until tomorrow.

Hey guys! I feel like time is dragging by the last few days. Has it been that way for you too?  Maybe I’m just anticipating the holidays so much. I am so excited this year…honestly, I think I’m this excited every year I just forget a year later. 🙂  We have everything wrapped and ready to go. Atticus has been so good at keeping all the presents a secret, which I was very worried about!  I only have a few little things left to buy as stocking stuffers, other than that my shopping is done! I  love seeing the kids open their gifts…the looks on their faces…they just get so excited. I just can’t wait!

This will be my first year to cook Christmas dinner and I’m not sure why, but I am so thrilled to be  cooking Christmas dinner!!! I have it all planned out, the grocery list is made, I’m thinking of ways I can spice up the decorations for the table. I am just really into the Christmas spirit!!

Here’s my menu for dinner. I want input if you have any. Anything special you do for Christmas dinner? Favorite recipes? I would LOVE to hear them or maybe share a link to where I can find them!

*Ham-Recipe from Paula Deen

*Green Bean Casserole

*Mashed Potatoes

*Black and Green Olives

*Lime Jello with Pears-This is something Jeremy’s MeMaw always made them.

*Rolls

*Dessert-Black and White Pie-My grannys recipe. (Jeremys favorite)

My menu is small, but since it’s my first actual holiday extravaganza I want to make sure I don’t get overwhelmed in the kitchen! I feel like I am missing something though. I don’t know what it is! (Input is welcome…Im begging!) My mother-in-law and brother-in-law are making the drive to Eureka Springs for Christmas, there will be a total of 6 of us eating. Not to big and not to small. Just perfect for my first holiday meal!  I am most excited about this…drum roll please…I inherited Jeremy’s MeMaws china a few months ago. It’s still boxed and wrapped in newspaper. I don’t have a china cabinet yet and I have no room in my kitchen cabinets, but I am going to unwrap it and get it ready for this special occasion!! Jeremy is very excited! MeMaw passed away in 2009 and is missed dearly. She was such an amazing woman. I feel very lucky to be able to use her stuff and make so many new memories with the china she loved and shared with her family for so many years.

I will make my weekly trip to Wal-Mart for groceries and last-minute Christmas stuff. I need to hand wash the china…do some cleaning around the house.  I have  baking to do for neighborly gifts and such. We normally make Christmas ornaments and hand out with the baked goods. That is still the plan, but Jeremy has been extra busy and hasn’t designed them yet. I’m sure it will be a last-minute thing, but it’ll get done! I think we may even have a few friends driving through  and stopping to see us sometime this week. I have no idea when yet, it’s still up in the air.

I’m sure we aren’t the only ones who will be busy this week. Are you going out-of-town? Is this your first time cooking for the family? Any traditions? I wanna know! Please share your thoughts and tell me what’s going on at your house.

Until next time! Steph 🙂

Last year I was a little more organized when it came to my holiday shopping. It helped that I worked at a retail store and I would pick up a few things here and there. The closer it got to Christmas the less I had to buy…boy did that feel good!! It was the first year that I wasn’t stressed out and I was really looking forward to Christmas getting here!! From then on I vowed to start my shopping early every year!

A year later….

I started my Christmas shopping this week. I know…I know…What about starting early?!

Fortunately, we do not have a huge blow out Christmas at our house and I like it that way. I’m sure as the boys get older it’ll get crazier. It just seems like the older kids get the more expensive their taste is. My step daughter is 12 and I’m learning this from experience. 😉 Luckily the boys are 3 and 4….they are happy with just about anything! Toys! Wii games! Art stuff! You name it they like it.

For the first time ever, I am doing my shopping online. Sure….It’s nothing new. I don’t know why I never did it before! I guess I figured once you pay shipping costs you were just paying too much. I have realized that’s a lie. So far all together I’ve paid less than $10 in shipping. I bet I would have spent more in gas just driving store to store than that.

I have never ordered anything from Etsy before. I always love looking at the stuff on there…but never purchased anything. Until this week! Yep…that’s right…I ordered 3 things off Etsy. (Yes I really am this lame.) I can’t wait to get them in and check everything out! Getting presents in the mail is so much better than bills!

Needless to say…I started my shopping this week and I’m happy to announce I am just about finished!!! Even though I started later than I planned and usually I would be freaking out…I decided why stress? Holidays are supposed to be fun! I tried something new and it worked! Shopping online is the best!!

That isn’t the only new thing we’re doing this year. This will be the first year that we will wake up Christmas morning in Eureka Springs. We went back to Oklahoma last year. In 29 years this will be the first Christmas I haven’t been with my Mom and Granny. It is a little sad, but I am excited to start our own tradition. Change is good right?

We will make our way to Oklahoma in January and exchange gifts with the rest of the family. Plus, we are going to a Oklahoma City Thunder basketball game while we are there. I am so excited!! Go Okc Thunder! 🙂

Okay…I’m going to wrap this thing up.

While we were in Oklahoma for Thanksgiving my friend Erica Gibson took some pictures for us. They turned out great!! I had to share at least one!  When I have more time I will post a few others!! It’s 6:20 am and I need some sleep. ( I told you I stayed up way to late! )

Thanks for reading!!
