Hello stranger! Long time no see, huh?! I have been busy around here. I’m not 100% finished with everything yet, but I will say that the majority of it’s done. That definitely takes a lot of stress off of my mind for a minute. I’ll probably enjoy a day off tomorrow…we’re supposed to get some snow and ice tomorrow through Saturday. It’ll be nice to get snowed in with my 3 guys for the next few days, but it’ll also give me a chance to get caught up on emails and get a head start on January DCC issue. This month we put out two December issues and guess what….one of them is FREE! They are both available on the iPad/iPhone and we will have the PDF available soon! We also brought our sketch challenge back this month. Make sure and check that out above, if you’re interested in entering! We have a $25 Two Peas in a Bucket gift certificate available to whoever is chosen!!
Have you been doing Elf on the Shelf? This is our first year and it’s so fun! I think I enjoy it more than anyone in our house. The boys are starting to understand it, but they’re just not sure about this pesky elf right now. We started it December 1st and the boys named our little elf Mushroom. Yes…Mushroom!! Here’s a few pictures from the last few days.
It’s fun trying to figure out what to do next. I’ve started a folder with ideas from Pinterest, so hopefully I won’t run out of ideas before Christmas. I think it’s a fun tradition to start…I would have loved it when I was a kid. I’d love to see what Elf on the Shelf ideas you have!! Leave me a comment if you’re playing along this year.
Today is my mother-in-laws birthday. I made her this card.
I thought I’d do a Christmas/Not so Christmas birthday card since her birthday is in December. I wish I would have taken a picture of the inside. I placed a little Christmas tree with jewels inside and had the boys sign their names. It was really cute and she loved it!! We bought her a plant (I don’t remember what kind…but it was pretty!) and two poinsettias. So the card went well with the gift. 🙂
Well…it’s getting late and I need my beauty sleep. Hope you all stay warm!
Work…Work…Work…I feel like that’s all I’ve done today. I guess I should feel accomplished, but honestly it just makes me feel behind! I guess I did get a lot done today, but not everything. I’ve got a few more jam-packed days ahead of me, but I can’t complain. I’ve decided this is what I want to do and I should be grateful to have made that decision. Most people hate their job…I really quite enjoy mine! (Most days!) We are working on a Free Holiday issue for Die Cut Crazy! I’m excited to get that finished and get to work on the other December issue that will also be coming out.
I’m trying to get most of my work finished before the weekend. It would be nice to not have the worry of work around me while we’re trying to get to know our new puppy!!! I think we’ve decided on the name Juno for our new family member. Jeremy is pretty set on that one and I don’t hate it! I am really excited and anxious about getting her. Puppies are a lot of fun, but also a lot of work. I’m sure it’ll go smooth, but I like to worry about ridiculous things. (kidding, but true.)
I’m getting pretty tired and still need to jump in the shower. I think I’m done working for the evening and I have another full day of it tomorrow.
Enjoy your Thursday everyone. I will try to enjoy mine.
Hello friends. It is officially November! Holy smokes….time is flying by. There is only 52 days until Christmas. 52!!! This is nuts.
I did a lot of work today. Not around the house. I’ve had dishes in the sink for 2 days now and they really need to get washed. I worked…did school…worked….worked….finally showered….took the kids to a movie….and back to work! Very fun and productive day.
We went to see Free Birds in 3D with Granny and my little cousin Trey. It was a cute movie, but we didn’t love it. Trey fell asleep for most of it and the boys were ready to leave an hour into it. It wasn’t really a great 3D movie. If you do see it in theatre, just shoot for the regular show. It’s not worth the extra money.
The Die Cut Crazy Holiday Blog Hop started today! I hope you have checked it out. The ladies have put together a lot of neat projects for everyone and there’s even prizes!! Everyone loves prizes! Make sure and take a look!
My goodness…I almost forgot to post tonight. I’m a busy little bee working away. Jerms and I had a few errands to run, so my granny watched the boys for a few hours. It was nice to get away by ourselves. It’s rare that we get that time, so I’m grateful for every chance. We had lunch and picked him and Atticus up some new pants. Other than that, we’ve just been working and getting things checked off our list. I think we have rain heading this way for the next couple of days. Should be gone in time for Halloween!
I have a million things to get done by Friday.Wish me luck!
I’m off to do a little more work, before I turn out the lights. Busy
day week ahead.
I love the rain! Well…let me rephrase that…I love the rain when I don’t have to get out in it! It’s 12:30 am, I’m in bed and it’s thundering and raining outside…It’s so relaxing.
Tomorrow starts a new week for us. We are starting a new schedule and I have faith it’ll work according to my plan. Jeremy was a full-time tattoo artist before we moved to Arkansas 2 years ago. He’s taken a little time off and decided last month he’s ready to get back to what he loves. I mentioned a few post back that I have been working part-time helping out at the family business, so my schedule will also be changing. Luckily, I will be able to take the kids to work with me on the few days I do go…that’s a major plus. We will home school in the morning and after lunch we will go to work for the day. This will be a little bit of an adjustment. Jeremy normally home schools on the days I am away from the house, but I think with a little planning I will have this down in no time. I need to make a schedule for home schooling, working part-time, and working full-time on Die Cut Crazy. I will need to be very responsible with the time I have everyday and make the most of it. When Jeremy gets home in the evening, I’d like to be able to spend that time with him and not spend it catching up on work.
I’m excited for this change. It will take some time adjusting to not seeing Jeremy as much as I’m use too, but I know how making art makes him happy. It’ll be good for him to get back to it and being around other artists/his friends. It’ll also be good for me to be under so much pressure. For some reason I work well that way. I need to step up to the plate and take care of business! I’m not sure how much longer I’ll work outside the home. I need my main focus to be on home schooling and the magazine during the day. I’m hoping I can make it all work, but I’m not super woman! 😉
The rain has tapered off and I better get some rest. Big day ahead tomorrow!
Brrrr…it’s cold tonight. I’m blogging from my phone, tucked under the covers. It is freezing outside! Where the heck did fall go? I have a feeling this winter is going to be a good one. I’ve got to get my winter shopping done. I thought I’d have a little time, but winter is here! Atticus has outgrown all his pants by a good inch…Bonus’ belly has outgrown his pants. 🙂
Marley is here this weekend. The boys are super excited to have their sis to hang out with. Although, she’s done nothing but play sims the entire time…but they enjoy peeking over her shoulder to see what she’s up too.
I’ve got lots of work to do tomorrow. I’ve gotta pick up around the house and then work work work on the magazine. Lots going on!
It’s been so cold and rainy here today and I’m thankful to have a warm house and be inside with the family. Hope you are all doing the same. Stay warm!
See you tomorrow!
Happy Thursday people! Today is my Friday and I am ecstatic. I’m staying up late and watching a movie with my honey bunny! Atticus and I went to work today and got everything finished that was on my list, so I am free to do whatever I want too! When the boys go to work with me I usually stop and get them donuts. It’s rare that they get to go, so it’s nice to get them a special treat.
Atticus was so happy when we pulled up to the donut shop.
I love getting to spend one on one time with the boys. While Atticus and I were ‘working’, Jerms and Bonus were having lots of fun together. I think it’s really good for them to have that time with us by themselves.
After work, we came home and my friend/photographer Erica texted and asked if I wanted to go shopping with her. Of course I said yes!! I tried to get Bonus to come along, but he wasn’t having it. He’d rather watch cartoons then shop with mom. It was nice to get away with a girlfriend. It doesn’t happen often, so we really enjoyed our kid free time together. Thanks Jerms for letting me get some girl time!!
I’m off to watch my movie.
